Wolf to Announce Major Development Re NASA Security Violations Today

Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) issued a press release this morning announcing that he will hold a press conference at 3:00 pm ET today “to reveal a major development in NASA security violations.”

The press conference will be in the Capitol Visitor Center Studio A (HVC 114).   The press release said that the announcement concerns “a Chinese national allegedly involved in security violations at several NASA centers.”

Wolf chairs the House Appropriations subcommittee that funds NASA.  He is intently focused on NASA’s dealings with China or Chinese nationals.   He has taken aim at NASA’s Ames Research Center for the past several months and more recently added NASA’s Langley Research Center to his list of concerns.   In the Langley case, one set of allegations focuses on a specific Chinese individual who was hired as a contractor and given access to the Center.  NASA and the FBI have been investigating those allegations.
