This morning NASA announced that it will hold a media telecon today, June 24, 2022, at 2:00 pm ET, to discuss the Psyche mission. The launch of Psyche, a mission to study an asteroid made of metal, on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy already has been delayed from August 1, the beginning of its launch window, due to software problems.
According to a NASA post on the Psyche website two days ago, NASA is evaluating whether it will be ready for the current launch window, September 20-October 11.
The telecon will air on NASA Live.
Participants are:
- Lori Glaze, director of NASA’s Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington
- Laurie Leshin, director of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California
