Senate Commerce (Second) Hrg on Jared Isaacman to be NASA Administrator, Dec 3, 2025, DC, 10:00 am ET

The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee will hold a nomination hearing on December 3, 2025 at 10:00 am ET in 253 Senate Russell Office Building. The hearing will be webcast on the committee’s website.

One of the two nominees is Jared Isaacman, whose original nomination to be NASA Administrator was withdrawn by President Trump on May 31 after Trump’s falling out with Elon Musk (who had recommended Isaacman), but reinstated on November 6.  Isaacman had already been through a nomination hearing on April 9 and approved by the committee on April 30, but much has happened since then including the Trump Administration submitting its proposed FY2026 budget for NASA that was much less than expected when Isaacman testified the first time, and delays in development of SpaceX’s Starship Human Landing System for the Artemis program to get American astronauts back on the Moon before Chinese taikonauts arrive.
