ARTEMIS I BEGINS ROLL-BACK TO VAB FOR FIXES, Apr 25, 2022, KSC, 5:30 pm ET
Event Navigation
The Artemis I Space Launch System rocket with an Orion spacecraft on top — the “stack” — will begin its trip back to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) on April 25, 2022 at 5:30 pm ET. The four-mile trip atop the Crawler-Transporter takes 10 hours or more.
NASA has been trying to conduct the Wet Dress Rehearsal test in preparation for the launch of Artemis I, but after three tries decided to take the stack back to the VAB to fix a failed helium check valve in the upper stage and a hydrogen leak in the core stage. It rolled out to Launch Complex 39-B on March 17-18.
Video of the roll-back will be available on Kennedy Space Center’s YouTube channel.
