Update, February 28: The agenda has been posted. Only portions of the meeting on March 2 and 3 are open to the public: March 2, 9:30 am-2:30 pm; March 3, 10:00 am-12:00 pm ET, incluidng public comment period from 11:30-12:00.

The meeting will be livestreamed, but the livestream link is “TBD” on the agenda. Check the committee’s website for up to date information.

Original Entry: The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine will hold the first meeting of its Committee on NASA Mission Critical Wo       rkforce, Infrastrucuture and Technology from March 1-3, 2023.

The meeting on March 1 is closed, but open on March 2-3. The agenda had not been posted on the committee’s website as of February 26.

The committee will meet at the National Academy of Sciences building, 2101 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, DC.  The website does not indicate if the meeting will be livestreamed, but many Space Studies Board (SSB) and Aeronautics and Space Engineering Board (ASEB) meetings are so check that website for updated information.

The committee’s task is as follows:

This study will review the critical facilities, workforce, and technology needed to achieve NASA’s long-term strategic goals and mission objectives.

The Committee will consider NASA’s mission objectives and strategic goals, identify the critical facilities, workforce, and technologies needed to accomplish these goals, and provide prioritized recommendations on actions to improve or support these critical capabilities. The final report will recommend high-level actions to bolster the workforce, infrastructure, and technological capabilities that enable transformational achievements at NASA, including those that could benefit from cross-directorate collaboration.
