Update, January 15: NASA says Isaacman will be joined at the post-splashdown press conference by Joel Montalbano, deputy associate administrator for NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate and previously ISS program manager.
Update, January 13: NASA has updated the splashdown time on Thursday morning to 3:41 am ET instead of 3:40 am ET, while also noting that final decisions on undocking and splashdown remain subject to “spacecraft readiness, recovery team readiness, weather, sea states, and other factors.” In addition, they say that NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman will participate in the post-splashdown news conference at 5:45 am ET.
Update, January 12: NASA has updated the undocking time to 5:05 pm ET instead of 5:00 pm ET.
Original Entry: Crew-11 will return from the International Space Station about a month earlier than expected due to a medical condition affecting one of the crew members. NASA is not disclosing who it is or the medical condition for privacy reasons.
The schedule for undocking through splashdown plus a post-splashdown news conference is as follows:
Wednesday, Jan. 14
3 p.m. – Hatch closure coverage begins
3:30 p.m. – Hatch closing
4:45 p.m. – Undocking coverage begins
5 p.m. – Undocking [update: 5:05 pm ET]
Thursday, Jan. 15
2:15 a.m. – Return coverage begins
2:50 a.m. – Deorbit burn
3:40 a.m. – Splashdown [update: 3:41 am ET]
5:45 a.m. – Return to Earth media news conference
