LAUNCH OF NASA’S GOLD INSTRUMENT ON SES-14, Jan 25, 2018, Kourou, French Guiana, 5:20 pm ET (webcast)

NASA will broadcast the launch of the SES-14 communications satellite on an Ariane 5 rocket from Kourou, French Guiana at 5:20 pm ET. An earth science instrument, the Global-scale Observations of the Limb and Disk (GOLD), is a “hosted payload” on the SES-14 satellite.
NASA will provide live coverage of the launch on NASA TV beginning at 5:00 pm ET. In addition to live coverage from Kourou, there will be briefings from the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at the University of Colorado-Boulder and NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD. LASP built the GOLD instrument.
NASA is also holding a media telecon about GOLD the day prior to the launch (January 24).
