NASA/BOEING MEDIA TELECON WITH UPDATE ON STARLINER CFT AND ISS OPERATIONS, June 28, 2024, virtual, 2:00 pm ET

NASA and Boeing will hold a media telecon on June 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm ET to provide an update on the status of Boeing’s Starliner Crew Flight Test and recent ISS operations.

Starliner CFT docked to the ISS on June 6. Its return has been delayed several times while NASA and Boeing gather as much information as possible about malfunctions in the Service Module affecting Reaction Control Thrusters and causing helium leaks. The Service Module does not return to Earth so whatever they can learn must be done while it’s in space (it detaches from the Crew Module and burns up in the atmosphere).

Separately, another NASA spacewalk was scrubbed on June 24 — the second in a row.

Participants in the telecon are:

  • Ken Bowersox, associate administrator, NASA’s Space Operations Mission Directorate
  • Steve Stich, manager, NASA’s Commercial Crew Program
  • Bill Spetch, operations integration manager, NASA’s International Space Station Program
  • Emily Nelson, chief flight director, NASA’s Johnson Space Center
  • Mark Nappi, vice president and program manager, Commercial Crew Program, Boeing
