House SS&T Hearing on FY2020 NASA Budget Request, April 2019

The House Science, Space, and Technology Committee held a hearing on NASA’s FY2020 budget request on April 2, 2019 where a major focus of discussion was the announcement by Vice President Mike Pence a week earlier that he was directing NASA to accelerate its plans to return humans to the surface of the Moon.  Pence told NASA to do that by 2024 although the FY2020 budget request that had just been submitted on March 11 did not include the funding to achieve such a goal.

NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine was the only witness at the hearing.
